Moving Home Mortgages
It’s rare someone buys a single home and never leaves. Maybe it’s time for you to move up the housing ladder and get a bigger, more expensive property. Perhaps it’s time to downsize and get a smaller one. Whatever move you’re making, you may have questions about what to do with the mortgage you already have.
Many mortgages now are portable, which means you can take them with you from one property to the next. But that might not be helpful for you, and if you need to change any of the details of the mortgage – size, deal length, etc. – then you’ll generally need to reapply for a new mortgage anyway.
There may be fees involved in clearing a mortgage early, so these should be taken into consideration when weighing up all your options.
At Fogg Financial we consider the costs involved in this, and help you review your options so you make the best decision for your individual circumstances.
